Fundraising

We are constantly raising funds and receiving donations to support our activities and purchase equipment for the Tithe Barn.  In the past, we have purchased, staging and seating and received full, professional quality 'Community Cinema' equipment  through the British Film Institute's Neighbourhood Cinema scheme.

Each year the Tithe Barn hosts a New Years Eve Barn Dance which is an important fundraising event as well as being a highlight of the events calendar and is almost always a sell-out!

The Tithe Barn Trust was instrumental in supporting the setting up of the'Leg Club' which is now a vital resource for significant number of patients who come to the barn on a weekly basis to receive treatment by health professionals supported by a large number of volunteers.  Although self-managing, the Trust continues to be closely allied to this valuable community resource.

A monthly musical/social gathering for dementia sufferers and their carers was based at the Tithe Barn even before its restoration.  With improved facilities and intense fundraising this monthly social 'get-together' has developed into a significantly important  part of the Trust's vision for the Tithe Barn.  Activities now take place on a weekly basis and 'outreach' support is also offered.  To provide such a resource calls for a high level of financial support and grant applications and fundraising activities are crucial for the ongoing success of this much valued and much needed project.

'Sponsor a Beam' Scheme

Our 'Sponsor a Beam' scheme was a vital part of our fundraising efforts and was open to individuals, companies and groups. The scheme was fully subscribed and the sponsors are acknowledged on a plaque in the Tithe Barn.

Sponsor a Chair

Thanks to our many sponsors we now have very comfortable chairs in place of the previous plastic school chairs, which served us well but could hardly be described as comfortable!  In addition we have been able to provide matching chairs but with arms for those with particular needs.  Thank you to all who sponsored a chair.

A list of chair sponsors is displayed in the corridor.
